What are the Vision 2030 Evenings?

These evenings will provide the opportunity for you to reflect, together with other key members of your parish or benefice, on the refreshed Diocesan Vision for 2030 and how this might generate and shape future plans for your parish or benefice.

We’re hosting these evenings in our Church of England secondary schools and at Nottingham Trent University, repeating them in the north, centre and south of the diocese so they are as accessible as possible.

What’s Involved?

The evening will be an opportunity to give thanks and celebrate how churches have been growing disciples of Christ across diverse settings over the last 7 years. We will outline the refreshed vision and reflect on the future areas of focus and how these might help support and strengthen the mission and ministry of your local church over the next 7 years. Finally, we’ll share practical resources available to help you and your team consider where God might be leading you into growth – whatever the size, age or stage of your church community.

Who should be there?

To get the most out of these evenings, we’d encourage Incumbents and Church Wardens to bring a diverse representation of up to 5 people from your team and wider community who want to be part of discerning and shaping together what a local vision for growing disciples might look like in your parish/benefice.  These might be those who helped to complete the parish refresh survey or who have a heart to see your church engage with your local school or community in new ways. We really value the unique voice and contribution your team will bring to this gathering.
