Citizens UK are a people powered alliance dedicated to challenging injustice and building stronger communities. In the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, we partner with Nottingham Citizens to help bring the kind of change we long to see.

Nottingham Citizens is a Citizens UK Chapter. 36 organisations form the alliance from schools, universities, trade unions, faith groups, charities and community groups. Together, they organise to tackle injustices in our local communities. Since their founding in 2013, Nottingham Citizens have: won a Living Wage for thousands of local people; led our national campaign to make misogyny a hate crime; and trained thousands of people in the city to organise in their communities.

Through the method of community organising, our partnership enables local leaders to develop their voice and come together with the power and strategy to make real change.
